This is Prelude in G minor by Johann Sebastian Bach (BWV 929) from the book Twelve Little Preludes. The piano is Roland HP 203. When this video was made, I've been playing piano for one and a half years.

This piece is not only a very good technical exercise, but on the other side it is great music and it makes a lot of fun to practise that piece. As I recorded this exercise I paid more attention to the music as to the technique and I think I did right so. The musical expression is most important even if you practise technical exercises…

LB Story by Roland Dyens
Roland Dyens gehört zu den bemerkenswertesten zeitgenössischen Komponisten und Gitarristen. Seine Werke sind unglaublich virtuos angelegt. Deine Interpretation zeichnet sich durch technische Perfektion, präzise Rhythmik und klangliche Vielfalt aus. Dabei spürt man, wie sehr du das Stück liebst und geradezu in ihm aufgehst.

Heike Matthiesen - J. S. Bach: Chaconne
Part II
Eine der transparentesten Interpretationen der wunderbaren Kompositionen von Johann Sebastian Bach (Original für Violine) die mir gerade wegen ihrer Klarheit auf Anhieb sehr gut gefallen hat.
Heike Matthiesen spielt das herrliche Barock Stück ohne jedwede Romantizismen (wie ich es schon gehört habe) wobei ihr Spiel dabei keineswegs an Spannung und Gefühl verliert.
Ihre bemerkenswerte Virtuosität wird niemals Selbstzweck sondern ordnet sich der werkgetreuen Interpretation unter.
